Earlier today, it was reported by numerous outlets, us included, that Travis Scott would have to cancel his concert in Egypt. On July 28th, Travis was supposed to head to Cairo to perform in front of the pyramids. Overall, this would be a massive event in which he unveils his brand-new project UTOPIA. Although the concert was far away, fans were very excited to fly out to a foreign country and experience some epic music.
However, as we reported, a musicians’ syndicate in Egypt said it would not give Travis a license to perform in the country. This was reportedly due to the show’s lack of respect for the country’s traditions. Moreover, they accused him of engaging in some “rituals” that go against the culture of Egyptians. This was all very disappointing news that also had fans confused. It was doubly confusing as Travis Scott fan pages on Twitter were claiming that this was all “fake news.”
Travis Scott To Perform “UTOPIA”
Now, however, we have confirmation from Live Nation that the show will go on, regardless of what the syndicate has to say. “There have been no changes to Travis Scott’s show in Egypt; any reports to the contrary are false. We can’t wait to celebrate Utopia with you in Egypt!” Live Nation wrote in a statement. Needless to say, fans can still expect Travis to be in Egypt, as promised. This is obviously great news, and we are excited to listen to this new album that has been hyped for three years now.
Hopefully, this show in Egypt goes off without any issues. Travis Scott is a great performer, and there is no doubt he will put his all into this. As for Utopia, let’s hope it arrives before then. There are millions of fans who are ready to sink their teeth into it. Let us know your hopes for the album, down below. Louis Tomlinson says he has a “good feeling” about his third solo album.
The former One Direction singer took to social media this week to give fans an update on the follow-up to 2022’s Faith in the Future, revealing that he had been listening to the finished record and was eager for people to hear it.
On Wednesday (10.09.25), he posted on X: “Just sat listening to the new record and I’ve got a really, really good feeling this time round! Can’t wait for you all to hear it!!”
Back in April, Louis told a fan on X that the music had a “sunny” sound with a touch of “chaos.”
By July, during his performance at Lodz Summer Festival, he confirmed to the crowd that he had “actually finished the next record.”
The 33-year-old previously said he wanted to take more time with his third project and was unsure when it would arrive.
When speaking to the media at the Rolling Stone Awards UK in 2023, Louis was asked if he had written any songs for the new record. He explained: “It’s funny, I wrote maybe four or five tunes in one of the breaks of the tour legs ... I don’t know when the next record is gonna come, but the thing with me is: when I start writing, I’m just desperate to release stuff as soon as possible, so I wanna take a bit of time with this record, so when that might be, who knows.”
With Louis now offering regular updates, fans are beginning to believe they won’t have to wait much longer.
In the meantime, Louis has admitted that he no longer feels the same pressure to compete with his former One Direction bandmates.
It took him years to stop measuring his success against Harry Styles, Niall Horan, the late Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik, who left before the band went on indefinite hiatus in 2015. Louis admitted the comparisons became “a little bit toxic.”
When asked by Brazil’s G1 if he still felt competitive with his old bandmates, he replied: “No, I don’t. Truthfully. But I do think that anyone — and obviously, there won’t be a lot of people who can relate to this — but anyone who has been in a similar situation of being in a band and then going out on their own, there is always that element of... the only thing you have to cross-reference with is other members of the band. That’s literally all you’ve got. And it took me... I think it’s a maturity thing, maybe. It took me a long time to look at it for what it was. Because that’s where petulance starts to come in. You start to think, ‘If they’re getting that, why am I not getting this?’. And it just becomes a little bit toxic.”
Louis, who released his debut solo album Walls in 2020, said he feels more self-assured about his own music now and has always remained “immensely proud” of what his former bandmates have achieved.
He continued: “Unfortunately, it is the nature of the music industry. It is competitive by nature. We’re all competing for spots. But I look at it in a very different way now. But as I said, that takes maturity. And truthfully, I also needed to succeed on my own to get through that. And get past that. And that comes back to that confidence I feel now, to be able to say these things. Oh, and to reiterate, because it’s important: while I felt competitive, or more competitive than I am now, that’s not to say that I wasn’t immensely proud of everything the boys were doing. It was more about reflecting on my own situation. Just about thinking: ‘Oh, I wish I had a bit of that.’
Whereas I do feel in a much, much different place now. And it’s a nicer thing to feel, it’s not always the nicest feeling to feel so competitive.”
