Offset is a proud father, as evident in the title of his 2019 album Father Of 4. The Atlanta rapper performed “On The River” live for Vevo while holding his son, Wave Set.
The performance was published on Tuesday (Nov. 7). The Migos member rapped for a little over a minute and a half while his two-year-old son played with his chains. At some moments, his youngest child stared directly into the camera. The most wholesome moment came when Wave Set sported a huge smile and bopped along to the Set It Off album opener, which samples Kirby’s “Black Leaves,” while his dad danced, as well.
“White Rove’/ Twenty h*es, white gold/ Mink roll, lotta pink toes/ Ricky O., Margiela, you didn’t know/
We pop G6’s, make the bi**h go sicko mode,” Offset rapped. After he finished his performance, he told Wave “Good job boy!” for being well-behaved. Check out a clip of the performance below.
Offset released his sophomore solo album, Set It Off, in October. He preceded the 21-track LP with the singles “Jealousy” featuring his wife Cardi B, “FAN,” and “Worth It” featuring Don Tolliver. Additional features on the album include Future, Travis Scott, Latto, Chlöe, Young Nudy, and Mango Foo. Set It Off debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
Offset first explored making music apart from Migos in 2017, joining forces with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin on Without Warning. Quavo ended up being featured on the project, but the late Takeoff was not.
In 2018, the group announced they each would release solo albums. Quavo released Quavo Huncho in October 2018, Takeoff dropped The Last Rocket in November 2018, and Offset finished the trio of albums with February 2019’s Father Of 4 which included the Grammy-nominated “Clout” featuring Cardi B. Check out the “Clout” video below.
JAE5 has built a strong reputation for crafting standout records across the industry. He has a clear ability to bring different artists together, and his latest release, “MINK SB,” is a perfect example of that. The track features Skepta, Skillibeng, and Lojay. There is a lot happening throughout the song, with multiple influences and textures coming into play, all tied together in a way that highlights JAE5’s versatility. In the end, it comes together as an enjoyable record that is well worth checking out.
