Here’s what SEVENTEEN played at their historic debut Glastonbury set

SEVENTEEN have made history as the first K-pop band to perform on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival – check out their setlist and all the best moments from them below.

The 13-strong boyband performed to a sea of people and flags at their set at the Pyramid Stage today (June 28) at Worthy Farm. With the set only available to watch for those in the UK, SEVENTEEN have made a huge splash on social media, with fans sharing some of the band’s heartfelt speeches.

Speaking to the crowd, the band’s significant achievement was not lost on them, with the band coming out with a small flag of their own saying “SEVENTEEN right here – making history at Glastonbury”. Member Woozi additionally said at the beginning: “We still can’t believe that we are here to perform as the first K-Pop group at the festival, thank you so much!”, with Seungkwan adding: “We will show you what kind of team SEVENTEEN is!”

Meanwhile, Joshua concluded: “Even though the language, country and culture are different, we can all connect through the music. That’s why we’re here today.”

Playing through hits like ‘Hot’ and ‘Rock With You’, the boyband played their song ‘Headliner’ from their most recent mini-album ‘Seventeenth Heaven‘ towards the end – perhaps as an act of cheeky manifestation.

They then closed out their show with a triumphant performance of ‘Very Nice’. Check out what the boys played for their history-making debut at Glastonbury down below:

SEVENTEEN’s Glastonbury setlist is:

‘Maestro’
‘Ready To Love’
‘SOS’ (ft. Marshmello)
‘Rock With You’
‘2 Minus 1’
‘I Don’t Understand But I Love U’
‘Cheers To Youth’
‘LALALI’
‘Clap’
‘Hot’
‘Headliner’
‘God Of Music’
‘Very Nice’

NME spoke to SEVENTEEN about their historic Glastonbury performance, with Seungkwan calling it “such an honour, we’re super grateful. Some of the audience members might not know us that well, but we just hope that everyone would leave with the impression that these guys can really smash it on stage.”

We also reviewed their 11th mini-album ‘Seventeenth Heaven’, giving it four stars: “‘Seventeenth Heaven’ admittedly may not sit at the very top of the band’s own pantheon. Nor does it reach the same Icarian heights of 2022’s ‘Face the Sun’, in which SEVENTEEN took a sure-footed step into an adult chapter, without deserting their endearing earnestness and grit.

“Even though this release doesn’t entirely play to the boyband’s strengths, it continues to flex their consistency and creativity as a collective – and if there is indeed a god of music, may they grace the group with a swift and rounded return to form.”

The gates to Glastonbury 2024 opened on Wednesday (June 26), ahead of a weekend of music from the likes of headliners Dua LipaColdplay, and SZA, alongside Shania Twain’s legends slot and performances from LCD SoundsystemPJ HarveyLittle SimzBurna BoyIdlesAnne-MarieConfidence ManDisclosureCamila CabelloThe Last Dinner PartyAvril LavigneThe NationalJessie WareJungleJusticeMasegoSugababes and countless more. Check out the full line-up here.

Paul Heaton has announced his new Ian Broudie-produced album ‘The Mighty Several’ and has shared a new single ‘Fish ‘N’ Chip Supper’.

‘The Mighty Several’ is set for release on October 11 – which is available for pre-order here – and follows his 2022 LP ‘N.K-pop‘ with Jacqui Abbott. The Housemartins and Beautiful South legend’s upcoming album was recorded at Blueprint Studios in Salford and was produced by Broudie of the Lightning Seeds.

The album is comprised of 12 tracks, with some featuring special guests such as Rianne Downey (Heaton’s regular live vocalist), Yvonne Shelton and Danny Muldoon. The featured artists are all pictured alongside Heaton on the album’s artwork. The announcement of the new album comes a week prior to Heaton’s slated performance at the Pyramid Stage at this year’s edition of Glastonbury.

Written by Heaton and guitarist Jonny Lexus, ‘Fish ‘N’ Chip Supper’ serves as the lead single of the album. The track features the anthemic chorus: “And we’re all walking back to our lovers / back to our husbands and wives / holding on to fish n chip suppers / and clinging on to dear life,” soundtracking the ups and downs of a relationship

Back in 2022, Heaton spoke to NME about buying everyone a free round in at 60 pubs across the UK and Ireland in celebration of his 60th birthday.

“It was brilliant. I expected a few people to say, ‘Oh cheers!’ – but I got video after video of people drinking, stories about people meeting new friends and talking to people all day, and it was good for the pubs,” Heaton told NME. “At the time I thought, ‘This is a bit of a silly idea’, but as it got nearer the day I knew I really wanted to do something like that. I was shocked by how much coverage it got, but also by how much people loved it. I’m just expecting for other artists to start doing it now!”

He also played a number of free gigs for NHS staff with Jacqui Abbott that year as a thank you for their efforts throughout the pandemic. “I did it for the nurses and we did one for care workers and they were mad,” Heaton recalled. “For the people who came, particularly the care workers in Sheffield, it just had this massive release. I was actually quite frightened on stage!”
