Eminem's Mother Reportedly Terminally Ill With Lung Cancer

Eminem‘s mother Debbie Mathers is reportedly terminally ill after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

According to a report from In Touch Weekly, Debbie, who famously has a troubled relationship with her son, does not have long left to live.

A source tells the publication: “There are not many options [for Debbie]. She is currently staying between the cancer center and with family members. She has a very limited amount of time [left].”

The report adds that while Eminem has been taking care of his 69-year-old mother financially for a number of years, the rap legend has not had contact with her for a long time.

“People around her aren’t even sure if Eminem is even aware of what is happening to his mother. He’s good to his mom. He makes sure he takes care of her, but they don’t really talk,” the source says.

“It would be good for both of them [to communicate]. This could give them the chance to reconcile.”

Debbie was previously diagnosed with breast cancer, telling The Village Voice in 2018: “I’m still under doctor’s care, which I probably will be for a while. Basically a lot of the stuff is hereditary, but that happens. Cancers and heart disease and all that, and all the genetic things … I worry about my boys, having high blood pressure and things.”

The two have had a publicly complicated relationship for years, with Eminem making his mother a subject in many of his songs.

Debbie would later sue her son for insinuating that she took drugs, attempting to win $11 million in damages though she was only awarded $25,000.

After Eminem was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Debbie paid tribute to her son.

“Marshall, I want to say, I could not let this day go by without congratulating you on your induction into the Hall of Fame,” she said. “I love you very much. I knew you’d get there. It’s been a long ride. I’m very, very proud of you.

“And also I’m very proud of Hailie Jade, my big girl. I want to tell you Hailie, great job on your podcast and God bless you guys. I love you very much.”

GloRilla Announces Debut Album Arriving Next Month

image

GloRilla is set to punctuate her banner year with the release of her debut album, which she just revealed will be arriving next month.

Sharing the news with Extra TV while on the red carpet at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday (September 11), Glo also gave a hint at the album title.

“I’m dropping an album next month, in October,” she said. “I’m so excited about that. We gon’ go number one! [The title] starts with a G.”

The LP follows the Memphis native’s mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang, which dropped in April. The 12-track project features appearances from Moneybagg Yo, Megan Thee Stallion, Kevo Money, Real Boston Richey and Finesse2Tymes.

GloRilla also hit the stage at the VMAs to perform “TGIF” – and almost suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction when an outfit reveal nearly resulted in her showing off just a bit too much.

As she removed her suit to showcase a bikini, her bra top almost slipped off, but luckily one of her backup dancers caught the almost-slip before the rapper showed it all on national television.

The rest of the performance went off without a hitch.

It’s been quite the year for Big Glo, and she recently gave credit to a 2023 post from a fan that said she’d fallen off as to how she has been so successful.

Taking to X on Wednesday (September 4), Glo posted an October 2023 tweet that read: “Glorilla fell off so fast and bad [crying emojis].”

With a retweet, she shared her testimony.

“I remember bookmarking dis & telling myself ‘Dey gotchu fucked up so bad,’” she wrote. “dis post ain’t do shit but put a battery in my back i needed dat. don’t let dese people write yo story for you , Keep going !!!”

GloRilla achieved major success with her 2022 breakout single “FNF,” then followed it up with another successful single “Tomorrow.” Cardi B hopped on the latter and made it even bigger.

However, she seemed to lose momentum in 2023 and even ended up blocking popular streamer Kai Cenat after he criticized her Fivio Foreign-assisted single “Cha Cha Cha,” a song that gained little to no traction.

She came back with a vengeance in 2024, though, with her singles “Yeah Glo!” and “Wanna Be” with Megan Thee Stallion both cracking the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. She also found viral success with her track “TGIF,” which was even complimented by Rihanna.

Rih was so impressed, in fact, she slid into Glo’s DMs saying: “You got all summer sis! I know dis wild hypocritical but when the album drop?”

Looks like Rih Rih now has her answer!
