NLE Choppa Remakes Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg’s ‘The Wash’ With A ‘Slut Szn’ Twist

NLE Choppa has put his ‘Slut SZN’ twist on Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg‘s stoner comedy The Wash with the help of some of his musical peers.

Though Choppa was born a year after the film was released in 2001, he was inspired to not only star in his own personal remake but also make his directorial debut alongside music video director Ben Marc.

NLE Choppa Presents: The Wash features appearances from Lil WayneSukihana, JP and more, as well as several popular influencers. According to TMZ, it was fully unscripted and everyone improvised their parts.

His most recent album, Slut SZN, doubles as a “secondary soundtrack” for the YouTube film. You can watch in full below.

Meanwhile on the music side of things, Complex‘s list of the twenty best rappers in their 20s elicited quite an angry response from NLE Choppa when he was left out back in September.

“Whoever made that Complex list, I just want to let you know something: your ass need to go do rock and roll or some other shit,” he said in a six-minute rant. “See, I been tucking my tail, I been trying to be more positive, I’ve been trying to be more of a light for these people. But y’all got me fucked up. Y’all keep playing with me.”

He continued, saying that he didn’t have objections to anyone who did make the list, which included Cash CobainSexyy RedLil Uzi VertGloRilla, and, at the top, Playboi Carti.

“I ain’t discrediting nobody on that muthafuckin’ list, no way, shape, form,” NLE said. “But you shoulda did 21 muthafuckas instead of 20 if you wanted to leave me off that list, muthafucka.”

The “Slut Me Out” rapper said that, following the release of SLUT SZN later that month, he was going to go on a rampage.

“October, I’m gonna make y’all muthafuckas feel me,” he continued. “After September, I’m gonna get through this SLUT SZN shit, I’m gonna get this shit off my chest. And after that, I’m back on your muthafuckin’ ass. ‘Cause y’all got me fucked up, for real.”

In his defense, NLE pointed to his age (“I”m 21, bro. Who did what I did at 21, my n-gga?”); his sales numbers (“Eighteen platinum [plaques], six or seven gold… Go look at the certifications. Let me know who beating me.”); and his touring history (“Sold out shows everywhere: America, Europe, Australia, Canada.”)

“Who been dominating this whole year in the male atmosphere?” he asked.

Warren G Confirms ‘Vicious’ Lil Wayne Collab On ‘Tha Carter 6’: ’Wait ‘Til You Hear This’

Warren G says he’ll be making an appearance on Lil Wayne‘s forthcoming Tha Carter VI album, and according to the West Coast legend, the song is “vicious.”

Dropping by DJ Hed and Gina Views’ Sirius XM show Effective Immediately on Thursday (October 31), the Regulator casually slipped the collab into their conversation.

“I got a record called ‘All Alone’ with Lil Wayne. It’s gonna be on Tha Carter VI. They was like, ‘We need this, Warren. Let us go on and get that.’ I was like, ‘Aight, that’s cool.’ It’s me and him on there. That muthafucka’s so vicious. When they hear that, they gon’ be like, ‘Wow!’”

He continued: “I hit him on the DM and said, ‘I got an open verse. Can you get down?’ It took him a while. He had hit me like, ‘Whatever you want Warren! Send the track to me.’ So I shot it to him. This is a banger. It was gon’ be my record because he did the verse for me but then when he heard it, he and [his manager] Fabian were like, ‘Can we have it for Tha Carter VI?’”

The convo begins around the 42:40 mark below.

The fifth volume of Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter series was released in 2018. In 2023, he released Tha Fix Before Tha VI, a mixtape that was supposed to serve as a prelude to the sixth entry. So far, there is not an official release date for Tha Carter VI.

Back in September, he teased the album in a post from the studio while giving a “Weezy Wednesday morning” greeting to fans.

“I’m in the studio as usual,” he says. “Just finished working on a couple features. I would tell y’all who it is, but you know I wouldn’t do that. It’d fuck it up. So shoutout to those artists.”

“And I’m working on [Tha] Carter VI, I just want you to know that,” he continued. “I just haven’t finished.”

Then he punned on his always-recording reputation, jokingly saying he already had another 20 albums’ worth of material in the can: “I’m lying — I’m working on Carter 26. I think you already know that.”
