Cardi B forcefully pushed back against a false story claiming her father had been arrested for attempted rape in 1993, responding directly on X formerly Twitter on Monday. In the process, she appeared to take aim at Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who was convicted of attempted rape in 1995.
"First thing first, my dad never been arrested in this county.. my dad is a immigrant from the Dominican Republic.. he would be deported if he committed such a disgusting crime!!" Cardi wrote while addressing the rumor. "I don’t know why yall like playing these games just for you to be fake mad when I post who got those real mugshots, real evidence, AND REAL cases for rape.. stop playing wit me and my family and leave me the fck alone fr before I start some sht today."
Support quickly poured in from Cardi’s fans, many of whom defended her in the replies. "These people lie to make themselves feel good, Cardi keep doing your thang ! Misery loves company around this mfkaaa ! You already know," one supporter commented. Another urged her to take legal action, writing, "Sue their ass for defamation."
The latest moment comes after Cardi B and Nicki Minaj exchanged a series of public jabs on social media back in October. Nicki initially reignited tensions by mocking the Am I The Drama? rapper over her relationship with Stefon Diggs. The back and forth escalated over time, eventually turning deeply personal as both sides referenced family members, including each other’s children.
As for Diggs, he is currently dealing with serious legal allegations, including felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery. The claims were made last month by his former private chef. Cardi previously spoke up in his defense on X in a post that was later deleted but captured by TMZ. "Not once has that woman said anything to me about being touched.. NOT ONCE!!," she wrote.

Jesy Nelson has revealed that doctors have told her her twin daughters may never be able to walk.
The former Little Mix star shared a deeply personal video on Instagram on Sunday, promising that her daughters will “fight all the odds” after they were diagnosed with a rare genetic condition known as spinal muscular atrophy type 1, often referred to as SMA1.
The condition affects the muscles, leading to severe weakness, ongoing loss of movement, and in many cases paralysis.
“We were told that they're probably never going to be able to walk; they probably will never regain their neck strength, so they will be disabled, and so the best thing we can do right now is to get them treatment, and then just hope for the best,” she said.
Nelson and her fiancé, Zion Foster, welcomed their twins Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson Foster earlier than expected in May 2025.
After months of what she described as exhausting and difficult hospital visits, the babies received their diagnosis, prompting Nelson to speak out in the hope of educating others. She stressed that with this condition, early action is critical.
“I just think that I can raise as much awareness about this as possible, and the signs, then, you know, something good has to come out of this,” said Nelson.
She went on to outline symptoms parents should be mindful of, including limpness, difficulty supporting their own bodies, legs resting in a frog like position with little movement, and fast breathing concentrated in the stomach area.
She added: “If anyone is watching this video and they think they see these signs in their child, then please, please take your child to the doctor, to the hospital, because time is of the essence, and your child will need treatment. And the quicker you get this, the better their life will be.”
