Danny Bretherton will not be joining the European leg of December 10's upcoming tour.
The 17 year old singer recently announced that he was "taking some time out" from the band, which rose to fame on Simon Cowell's Netflix series The Next Act. As a result, he is not expected to take part in the group's European dates for the December 10: The Next Step tour.
A source close to the band told The Sun newspaper: "Danny is taking his mental health and wellbeing seriously, which is why he’s taking a break at this time.
"The band are fully supportive of this, and for now they’re focused on delivering the best shows possible for their fans on their first European tour."
December 10 are due to kick off the tour with a performance in Amsterdam on Friday (26.06.26).
Last week, the band confirmed that Danny was "taking some time out" so he could focus on his mental health and get the support he needs.
The announcement followed criticism he had received online over claims that he made inappropriate comments in the past.
A statement from the band read: "Danny’s taking some time out at the moment and we’re all respecting that.
"One thing we’ve always spoken about as a band is the importance of looking after your mental health and getting support when you need it.
"Right now, that’s what Danny is focusing on.
"He’s our friend and we care about him, so we’re supporting him and giving him the space and privacy he needs."
Fans began questioning whether Danny had left the group after he was absent from recent promotional photos featuring fellow members Nicolas Alves, Josh Olliver, Hendrik Christoffersen, Sean Hayden, John Fadare and Cruz Lee Ojo.
Danny later addressed both the speculation surrounding his future with the band and the criticism aimed at him in a video posted on TikTok.
He said: "Looking back at some of my actions, I understand why this has caused upset and hurt and for that, I am truly sorry.
"I didn’t think enough about how my behaviour might affect other people."
Danny recently spoke about Simon, describing him as an excellent mentor for the band.
He told ContactMusic.com: "We talk to him a lot. We were all at his house the other day for a barbecue chilling but also talking about the next steps that we’re going to go through. We couldn’t ask for anyone better to guide use what we’re going through at the minute."
On Saturday (June 20), for the second show on his North American leg of his global headlining Loop Tour, Ed Sheeran brought his eclectic, energetic and heartfelt brand of pop-tilted singer-songwriter fare to one of music’s songwriting capitals, Nashville.
Appropriately, the four-time Grammy winner’s Nissan Stadium show, which stretched over two hours, was chock full with his signature hits, deep emotional ballads and rapid-fire, uptempo grooves. But on the Loop Tour, his solo stadium show featured Sheeran employing live audio looping instead of a full band to build the sonic tapestry of his songs, weaving in looped instrumentals, rhythms and layered vocal harmonies — and in the process, offering fans a glimpse into the process of constructing hits including his Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers “Perfect” and “Shape of You.”
“I always feel like it’s coming home playing here,” Sheeran said of Nashville, noting that he has not only previously played Nashville venues including Nissan Stadium and the Ryman Auditorium, but he also lived in Nashville for brief periods of time, including living in a home in Hendersonville, Tenn., in 2013. Many Nashville-area songwriting sessions from that time informed his 2014 album x (“Multiply”). Of course, his Nashville connections extend deep, including collabs over the years with Megan Moroney, Luke Combs and Taylor Swift.
Just before Sheeran took the stage Saturday night, an image of a cassette mixtape was emblazoned on the massive screen, along with a message encouraging fans to sign up to request a song for the night’s setlist. In addition to planned songs such as “Give Me Love,” “Perfect,” and “Thinking Out Loud,” this allowed for some off-the-cuff moments and fan-requested songs “A Little More,” “Dive” and “Supermarket Flowers.”
Throughout a set punctuated often by fiery pyro and fireworks, Sheeran spent time toggling between the main stage and a smaller b-stage, using a retractable bridge that spanned over the audience, connecting the two stages. He also surprised fans by welcoming guests, traditional Irish folk band Beoga and country duo Dan + Shay (Sheeran mentioned that his friendship with Dan + Shay stretches back over 10 years when they wrote songs together).
Sheeran’s Nashville show featured opening sets from Myles Smith, Amble and Aaron Rowe. The trek will visit more cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Boston.
