Joe Budden Says He Was Considered For The Breakfast Club Before The Show Started

"Where'd you hear that? That was a strong rumor," Budden responded when Sharpe asked whether he was originally meant to host the show. "No [...] My name came up early on when they were throwing different concepts around, before the show even had an official name. I did attend one dinner meeting with someone about it, but nothing beyond that ever moved forward."

Although Budden did not secure that opportunity, he still went on to establish himself as one of the most influential voices in hip hop media from his era.

Joe Budden Corey Holcomb Beef

That platform has allowed him to openly share his thoughts on various moments within the music industry, regardless of backlash. On a recent episode of his podcast, for instance, he discussed newly surfaced security footage that allegedly shows Corey Holcomb striking comedian Cristina Payne. The discussion triggered a heated response from Holcomb, who fired back during an episode of his own podcast.

"Fruit booty buttons, I know you ain't talkin' crazy about me, homie," he said. "Everybody do their homework on fruit booty buttons and all of the women that have accused him of actually beating them up. Since you want some heat, since you couldn't leave me alone."

"You and your crew talk about that, since you need subject matter," Holcomb continued. "A lot of men who mess with men and women fight women. Is that a lie? It is my opinion that a lot of men who sleep with men and women fight women."

Zayn Malik Grateful for Ongoing Fan Support as He Prepares New Album

Zayn Malik has said he is still “buzzing” that fans continue to support him after his departure from One Direction.

The 33 year old artist parted ways with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and the late Liam Payne in 2015 to focus on his solo path. As he prepares to release his fifth studio album, Konnakol, Zayn admitted he never expected to reach this point and is still amazed he was able to put out four records on his own.

Speaking during an appearance on Billboard’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Zayn shared: “Honestly, the fact that people still give a s***.

“Five solo albums now I was just buzzing that I got to do the first one after leaving the band, and people seemed to care.

“I’m really proud of the progression and just the development and understanding of myself through my music.”

Konnakol is scheduled for release on April 17, 2026 and will feature 15 songs.

After confirming the album, Zayn unveiled its lead single Die for Me.

The Believe Me singer, who comes from a Pakistani background and was raised in a Muslim household, explained that he hopes listeners gain “more insight on maybe my culture and heritage” through the new material, describing it as his “most culturally inspired project to date”.

Zayn has also explained that Konnakol refers to “the act of creating percussive sounds with one's voice”, hinting that the album draws from South Indian Carnatic traditions while blending them with pop and R and B influences.

Alongside the record, Zayn revealed plans for a Konnakol arena tour across the UK as well as North and South America, covering 31 dates.

Last month, he introduced fans to some of the new music during his Las Vegas residency.

Variety reported that the first unreleased track carried a “soft energy” and included a chorus that reflected the R and B sound that shaped his debut solo album Mind of Mine.

Soon after, Zayn thrilled longtime supporters by performing She, a deep cut from Mind of Mine that had never previously been played live, making it one of the standout moments of the evening.

Throughout the concert, he premiered additional songs from the upcoming project, including Used to the Blues and Fatal, with the latter featuring Urdu lyrics as a meaningful tribute to his South Asian roots.

He also delivered a performance of his emotional new single Die for Me.
