Charli XCX Describes Working on Wuthering Heights as “Heavenly”

Charli XCX has described working on the Wuthering Heights soundtrack as an experience that felt nothing short of “heavenly”.

The 33 year old singer composed the score for the new drama film directed by Emerald Fennell, which takes loose inspiration from Emily Bronte’s 1847 novel of the same name. Charli said she loved being able to bring her own creative voice to the project.

While speaking to the BBC at the film’s UK premiere in London on Thursday 05.02.26, Charli shared her excitement about the collaboration, saying: “I always like to work with polar opposites, and so this was honestly a dream project for me.

“When I first started making music, I was so inspired by, you know, so many of the references that Emerald and I were talking about, like Shakespears Sister to The Cure to, obviously, Kate Bush ... So this was, yeah, it was really heavenly to work on this.”

Charli is also set to appear in The Moment, a new mockumentary film, and has recently spoken about how she approached preparing for the role.

During a Q and A event in Brooklyn, Charli, who released her critically praised Brat album in 2024, explained: “I play — I hope — a slightly different version of my real self in this film. I don't think I'm quite that much of a nightmare the whole time, but I wouldn't really be the best person to ask about that.

“The thing about the Charli in the film is all of the scenarios that my character in the film goes through could have happened if I made slightly different decisions in my own life and in my own career.

“Obviously I assume that most of you here know that this is not what happened when it came to Brat and going on tour and things like that.”

Kylie Jenner also makes a cameo in the film, and Charli said she genuinely enjoyed working alongside the beauty entrepreneur.

The Boom Clap singer, who appears in the film with Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell and Alexander Skarsgard, added: “I really enjoyed shooting the Kylie scene, obviously.”

Zayn Malik Grateful for Ongoing Fan Support as He Prepares New Album

Zayn Malik has said he is still “buzzing” that fans continue to support him after his departure from One Direction.

The 33 year old artist parted ways with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and the late Liam Payne in 2015 to focus on his solo path. As he prepares to release his fifth studio album, Konnakol, Zayn admitted he never expected to reach this point and is still amazed he was able to put out four records on his own.

Speaking during an appearance on Billboard’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Zayn shared: “Honestly, the fact that people still give a s***.

“Five solo albums now I was just buzzing that I got to do the first one after leaving the band, and people seemed to care.

“I’m really proud of the progression and just the development and understanding of myself through my music.”

Konnakol is scheduled for release on April 17, 2026 and will feature 15 songs.

After confirming the album, Zayn unveiled its lead single Die for Me.

The Believe Me singer, who comes from a Pakistani background and was raised in a Muslim household, explained that he hopes listeners gain “more insight on maybe my culture and heritage” through the new material, describing it as his “most culturally inspired project to date”.

Zayn has also explained that Konnakol refers to “the act of creating percussive sounds with one's voice”, hinting that the album draws from South Indian Carnatic traditions while blending them with pop and R and B influences.

Alongside the record, Zayn revealed plans for a Konnakol arena tour across the UK as well as North and South America, covering 31 dates.

Last month, he introduced fans to some of the new music during his Las Vegas residency.

Variety reported that the first unreleased track carried a “soft energy” and included a chorus that reflected the R and B sound that shaped his debut solo album Mind of Mine.

Soon after, Zayn thrilled longtime supporters by performing She, a deep cut from Mind of Mine that had never previously been played live, making it one of the standout moments of the evening.

Throughout the concert, he premiered additional songs from the upcoming project, including Used to the Blues and Fatal, with the latter featuring Urdu lyrics as a meaningful tribute to his South Asian roots.

He also delivered a performance of his emotional new single Die for Me.
