No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont is opening up to fans with a personal health update.
On Saturday April 11, the 58 year old musician shared a video on Instagram where he revealed that he has been diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease.
“A number of years ago I was experiencing a number of symptoms,” Dumont said. “I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, did a whole bunch of tests, and I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease. It’s been a struggle, it’s a struggle every day.”
Dumont, who has been part of No Doubt since 1988, explained that he has spent the past few months getting ready for the band’s upcoming residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, which begins on May 6.
“The last couple months, getting ready for the No Doubt Sphere shows, it’s been very fun,” the guitarist said. “Looking through old footage and looking at old photographs and relearning old songs and rehearsing and creating all the video stuff for the Sphere. It’s kind of made me think about how grateful I am for the life I’ve gotten to lead, as a musician all these years. It’s thanks for our families and our friends and our listeners and you and everyone who’s come to our shows over the years.”
Even with the diagnosis, Dumont confirmed in the video that he will still perform during No Doubt’s scheduled run at the MSG owned 17,600 capacity venue. The group currently has shows lined up through mid June at the Sphere.
The guitarist also shared that he plans to post another video soon to talk more in depth about his diagnosis and the symptoms he has been dealing with.
“The good news is I can still play music, I can still play guitar,” Dumont said. “I’ve been doing really well. I’ve just been very inspired by other people who have come out to talk about their health issues on social media and that sort of thing. I think it helps erase some of the stigma and it raises awareness obviously, and awareness is really important for prevention and for research.”
Early onset Parkinson’s disease is a progressive condition that impacts the nervous system, including movement, thinking and mood, according to the Mayo Clinic. While there are treatments and lifestyle adjustments that may help manage symptoms, there is currently no cure for the condition, according to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
He closed the video by saying, “I’m really excited about the shows, can’t wait to see everybody.”
Dumont’s No Doubt bandmates also showed support in the comments section. Drummer Adrian Young wrote, “My friend, bandmate, and hero……I love you brother,” while bassist Tony Kanal added, “Love you beyond words my friend. Can’t wait to get on stage with you again.”

Justin Bieber’s $10 million payday for Coachella this year makes him the highest paid out of the three headliners. With that kind of deal in place, it always felt unlikely that he would step away from the festival. Even so, having a backup option is part of the industry since nothing is ever completely certain.
There was still some hesitation surrounding Bieber, especially because of the health struggles he has dealt with recently, both physically and mentally. Because of that, people online started speculating about who could potentially step in for the Canadian star.
SZA’s name quickly became part of that conversation, with rumors claiming she had been chosen as his backup. Some of those reports even suggested she was being offered a large amount of money to take on that role.
More specifically, the claim was that she would receive a six figure payment to act as his emergency replacement.
But according to the SOS artist herself, none of that is true.
As noted by Buzzing Pop and Bossip, the TDE signee responded directly under a post spreading the rumor and shut it down. “Lmao who made this up? I've seen this 4 times now. I'm in New York no one paid me a dime. Wishing everyone the best [red heart emoji],” she wrote.
It is possible she is currently in New York working on her next album, which she has been teasing in recent weeks.
Overall, it does not seem like SZA took any offense to the situation. She simply wanted to clear things up and stop the rumor from spreading further.
It also appears she is showing support for Justin Bieber, whose first of two Coachella performances has sparked mixed reactions.
If you missed it, midway through his set, the hitmaker pulled out his MacBook and played a series of music videos from his earlier catalog.
Some viewers criticized the moment, calling it unprofessional and lacking effort, while others saw it as something more personal and nostalgic. Many longtime fans have followed Bieber since his early years, so watching him revisit that era felt meaningful for those who have stayed with him.
Even with the divided opinions, there is still a lot of curiosity around what he will bring to the stage for his next performance this coming Saturday.
